We are an Incorporated Society with a national executive board comprising elected representatives from the major hotel chains, member-elected regional Chairs and a Wellington-based secretariat.
We represent the interests of New Zealand's large international chains, and a number of independent, privately-owned and boutique hotels.
We provide members with professional advice and information on industry issues and engages with major tourism partners to ensure New Zealand's reputation as a quality, 'must-see' destination continues to grow.
We provide members with comprehensive hotel-specific research, industry statistics and analysis to assist with day-to-day management and strategy.
NZHC is the one organization that specifically represents the interests of and provides an industry focus for larger hotels (more than 15 rooms). NZHC hotels have over $2.5 billion invested in rate-paying properties around the country, they are major employers and significant contributors to the tourism industry both regionally and nationally. Member hotels therefore have a great deal at stake as local authorities look to raise taxes to pay for inadequate infrastructure, government introduces restrictive work practices or airlines arbitrarily restructure; we are simply the most visible and easiest to target.
